Heart shunt trial offers hope for severe lung disease patients

Summary

This early study tests a small device called the V-Wave shunt in 20 people with severe pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). The shunt is placed in the heart to relieve pressure on the right side. The main goal is to check safety and see if it might improve symptoms and exercise ability over 12 months.
