First seen May 17, 2026 ยท Last updated May 17, 2026

Summary

This pilot study tests whether a combination of relaxation, guided imagery, and gentle massage can help prevent delirium in critically ill patients in the intensive care unit (ICU). Delirium is a state of confusion that can make recovery harder. The study involves 120 adults in the ICU who will either receive the relaxation intervention or standard care. The goal is to see if this approach is feasible and can improve patient outcomes.
