First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated Apr 24, 2026 · Updated 24 times
Summary
This study tests whether taking a combination of two natural antioxidants (glycine and N-acetyl-cysteine, or GlyNAC) before and after knee replacement surgery can lower the risk of long-term chronic pain. About 148 adults aged 50 and older with knee osteoarthritis will be followed for 12 months. The goal is to see if reducing oxidative stress during surgery helps prevent ongoing pain.
