Less pills, stronger fight: study tests cutting unneeded meds in older cancer patients
NCT ID NCT05046171
First seen Apr 04, 2026 · Last updated May 09, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
This study looked at whether reducing unnecessary medications in older adults (65+) with curable cancers can help them better tolerate chemotherapy. 51 patients were enrolled, and their doctors were randomly assigned to either a pharmacist-led program to cut extra pills or a patient education program. The main goal was to see if the approach helped patients receive more of their planned chemotherapy.
