Can less surgery be enough for rectal cancer? major trial tests new approach
NCT ID NCT07038122
Summary
This study is testing whether a less extensive surgery is as safe and effective as the standard, more extensive surgery for patients with certain rectal cancers. It involves patients whose tumors have shrunk significantly after receiving chemotherapy or immunotherapy before surgery. The main goal is to see if the less extensive surgery leads to similar long-term cancer control while potentially allowing for better recovery.
