Doctors uncover keys to better outcomes after failed rectal cancer surgery
NCT ID NCT07279961
Summary
This study looked back at medical records to understand what factors help patients successfully have repeat surgery when their initial rectal cancer surgery fails or the cancer returns locally. Researchers analyzed 143 patients who underwent this redo surgery to see who was able to restore normal bowel function through the anus. The goal was to identify which patient and surgical factors lead to better outcomes, helping doctors make better decisions for future patients.
