Ancient rice meets modern science: can it tame cholesterol?
NCT ID NCT06301906
Summary
This study looked at whether a supplement called red yeast rice helps lower high cholesterol in men and reduces their future risk of heart disease. Researchers followed 41 men aged 35-55 who took the supplement for up to two years. They checked cholesterol levels and also collected blood and stool samples to see if changes in gut bacteria and bile acids explain how the supplement might work.
