New hope for heart inflammation sufferers: can one drug replace a cocktail?

NCT ID NCT07288216

First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This study tests whether people with well-controlled recurrent pericarditis (a painful heart inflammation that keeps coming back) can safely switch from their current combination of medicines to just one drug, KPL-387. About 80 adults whose symptoms are stable will be followed for at least 16 weeks to see if the switch prevents flare-ups and improves quality of life. The goal is to simplify treatment while keeping the disease under control.
