First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026
Summary
This study tested a website called RecTech Match, combined with health coaching calls, to help people with physical disabilities find and engage in physical activities. Seven adults with mobility-limiting disabilities participated. Researchers measured physical activity levels, barriers, and social influences using questionnaires and Fitbit data. The goal was to see if this approach is feasible and helpful.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
RecTech Match website and health coaching calls
What this could lead to
If successful, this approach could help people with disabilities find accessible exercise programs and become more active.
What could go wrong
This is a very small feasibility study with only 7 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. It tests whether the idea works, not whether it improves health.
