Endometriosis breakthrough: hormone therapy challenges surgery for better gut health
NCT ID NCT01973816
Summary
This study compared two approaches for managing rectal endometriosis in women not planning pregnancy: continuous hormone therapy versus curative surgery. Researchers followed 78 women aged 35-50 for two years to see which treatment led to better digestive function and quality of life. The trial aimed to determine if avoiding surgery with hormone treatment could provide equal or better outcomes for bowel function.
