New combo therapy could boost rectal cancer remission rates

Summary
This study tests if adding immunotherapy to standard treatment (radiation and chemotherapy before surgery) helps more people with high-risk rectal cancer achieve complete remission. It also compares a shorter course of radiation to a longer one. About 435 adults with locally advanced rectal cancer will take part.
