Citrus pill joins fight against rectal cancer in new trial
NCT ID NCT07176182
Summary
This study is testing if adding a citrus flavonoid tablet (Aimailang) to standard chemotherapy (mFOLFOX6) works better for shrinking rectal tumors before surgery. It will involve 236 patients with locally advanced rectal cancer who have high levels of a specific protein called YWHAB. Patients will be randomly assigned to get either the standard chemo alone or the chemo plus the citrus tablet, both before and after their surgery.
