New combo attack on rectal cancer: radiation, chemo & immune drug tested
NCT ID NCT07150949
Summary
This trial is testing two different intensive treatment combinations given before surgery for locally advanced rectal cancer. One group gets a longer course of radiation with chemotherapy. The other gets a shorter radiation course plus chemotherapy, an immunotherapy drug, and an anti-inflammatory pill. The main goal is to see which approach leads to the highest rate of patients having their cancer completely disappear, either before surgery or confirmed after surgery.
