New combo attack on rectal cancer: shorter radiation vs. longer radiation before surgery

NCT ID NCT07284992

Summary

This study is testing whether a shorter, more intense course of radiation is as good as a longer, standard course when both are combined with a new immunotherapy drug and chemotherapy. The goal is to shrink tumors before surgery in people with locally advanced rectal cancer that hasn't spread. Researchers will compare how well the two approaches work and how safe they are.
