Timing test: does waiting longer after Chemo-Radiation help beat rectal cancer?

NCT ID NCT00335816

Summary

This study is testing whether waiting different lengths of time between completing chemo-radiation treatment and having surgery improves outcomes for people with stage II or III rectal cancer. Researchers are looking to see if a longer wait helps eliminate more cancer cells before surgery, making the operation easier and potentially more successful. The trial involves 248 participants who receive standard chemo-radiation followed by surgery after different waiting periods.
