Surgery-Free future for some rectal cancer patients?

NCT ID NCT07260526

Summary

This study is testing whether some patients with early-to-intermediate stage rectal cancer can safely avoid major surgery. If patients respond very well to initial chemotherapy and follow-up radiation/chemo, doctors will closely monitor them instead of operating immediately. The goal is to preserve normal bowel function and quality of life while still controlling the cancer.
