Summary
This study is testing whether a combination of chemotherapy and radiation can effectively treat early rectal cancer, allowing patients to avoid major surgery that often leads to permanent bowel problems. Patients can choose between standard surgery or this organ-preserving treatment followed by close monitoring. The goal is to control the cancer while maintaining better bowel function and quality of life.
