First seen May 08, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study tests whether combining high-protein supplements, mobility-based physical therapy, and neuromuscular electric stimulation can help older adults (60+) recover muscle mass, strength, and function after a long ICU stay. About 78 participants will receive the combination therapy, and researchers will measure changes in muscle size, strength, and inflammation. The goal is to improve recovery and reduce disability in this vulnerable group.
