Summary

This study looks at whether taking a daily capsule of a friendly gut bacteria (Akkermansia muciniphila) for 56 days can help adults recover after being treated in the ICU for sepsis. The main goals are to check if the supplement is safe and if it increases helpful gut bacteria. Researchers will compare the supplement to a placebo using stool and blood samples.
