First seen Feb 05, 2026 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This early-stage study tests a single dose of a lab-made clotting protein (recombinant von Willebrand factor) in 12 adults on ECMO who have serious bleeding. The goal is to see if the drug is safe and how the body processes it. ECMO patients often bleed because the machine damages their natural clotting factors.
