First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This study tested whether injecting numbing medicine around, rather than directly into, the nerve root could reduce severe rebound pain after shoulder surgery. Rebound pain is a short but intense pain that can happen as the nerve block wears off. The trial involved 85 adults and compared two injection techniques to see which one led to less severe pain.
