New drug rebecsinib enters human testing for tough blood cancers
NCT ID NCT07250646
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This early-phase study is testing a new drug called rebecsinib in 28 people whose secondary acute myeloid leukemia or high-risk myelofibrosis has come back or not responded to treatment. The drug is given by IV infusion four times per 28-day cycle for up to six cycles. The main goals are to find the safest dose and check for side effects, while also looking for any signs that the drug is shrinking the cancer.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
rebecsinib (a drug given by IV infusion)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could point toward a new treatment option for people with hard-to-treat secondary AML or myelofibrosis.
What could go wrong
This is a very early Phase 1 trial with only 28 participants, focused on safety and dosing. It is too small to prove effectiveness, and the drug may cause side effects or not work at all.
