New study aims to keep heart failure patients out of hospital with smart glucose monitoring

NCT ID NCT07045298

First seen Nov 05, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study looks at whether using a real-time continuous glucose monitor (CGM) can help people with type 2 diabetes and worsening heart failure better manage their blood sugar. About 140 adults admitted to the hospital for heart failure will be monitored during their stay and for 3 months after discharge. The goal is to see if the CGM reduces dangerous blood sugar swings and prevents repeat hospital visits.
