Blood test could replace tissue biopsy for cancer treatment decisions
NCT ID NCT05057234
First seen Oct 01, 2025 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 30 times
Summary
This study looks at whether a blood test (liquid biopsy) can find cancer mutations as well as the standard tissue biopsy in 1,500 advanced cancer patients. The goal is to see if the blood test helps doctors choose better treatments and saves healthcare money. Participants either get both tests at the same time or only the blood test if the tissue test didn't work.
