Could a single dose of radiation before surgery replace months of treatment for breast cancer?
NCT ID NCT06444269
First seen Nov 05, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 24 times
Summary
This study tests a new way to give radiation before surgery for early-stage ER+ breast cancer. About 53 women will receive a single high dose of radiation, then wait to see if the tumor disappears. If it does, they may avoid surgery. The study also tests a special ultrasound to check lymph nodes without a biopsy. The goal is to see if this approach can safely reduce the need for surgery and standard radiation.
