First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 21 times
Summary
This study tested whether a rapid test (BioFire FA Pneumonia Panel) can help doctors choose the right antibiotics faster for ICU patients on breathing machines who have suspected pneumonia. 40 adults were randomly assigned to get either the rapid test or standard care. The main goal was to see if the test is feasible and safe, and how quickly it leads to appropriate antibiotic treatment.
