First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether installing a radon mitigation system in homes can improve asthma symptoms. Researchers will compare a real system to a sham (inactive) system in 180 adults with uncontrolled asthma. The goal is to see if lowering radon levels leads to fewer days with asthma symptoms.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
radon mitigation system
What this could lead to
If it works, this could show that reducing radon in homes helps control asthma symptoms, offering a new management strategy.
What could go wrong
This is an early-stage trial with no phase, and the effect of radon on asthma is not yet proven. The sham group may also show improvement, making it hard to see a clear benefit.
