PET scan may allow safer, lower-dose radiation for throat cancer patients

Summary

This study is for people with HPV-related throat cancer who are getting standard chemotherapy and radiation. Researchers want to see if a special PET scan taken during treatment can identify patients who respond well enough to safely receive a lower dose of radiation. The goal is to reduce side effects while still controlling the cancer. About 120 adults will take part.
