Pharmacist check could boost safety of new cancer radiation treatments

NCT ID NCT07389512

First seen Feb 05, 2026 · Last updated May 10, 2026 · Updated 9 times

Summary

This study looks at whether having a radiopharmacist review a patient's full medication list before they receive targeted radionuclide therapy (TRT) can improve safety. TRT is a type of radiation treatment that targets cancer cells while sparing healthy tissue. Researchers will compare patients who get this extra medication review with those who do not, tracking how often the pharmacist suggests changes to the patient's prescriptions. The goal is to see if this simple step helps prevent medication problems and makes the treatment pathway safer.
