New radiation technique tested in fight against tough leukemias

NCT ID NCT00576979

Summary

This study tested a new, targeted form of radiation therapy combined with chemotherapy and a donor stem cell transplant for adults with acute leukemia that had not responded well to standard treatments. The main goals were to find the safest dose of the new radiation and to see if this combined approach could help control the cancer. Researchers followed 51 patients to monitor side effects and see how well they survived after the transplant.
