Radiation 'Jump-Starts' immune system to fight spreading cancers

Summary

This study is for people with advanced gastrointestinal cancers that have spread and have stopped responding to immunotherapy. Researchers want to see if giving a short, targeted course of radiation to one tumor can 'wake up' the body's immune system to attack all the cancer, including tumors not directly treated with radiation. The goal is to slow or stop the cancer's growth in patients whose current treatment is no longer working.
