New combo attack on tough head & neck cancers

NCT ID NCT07213934

Summary

This study aims to see if giving radiation therapy (either standard X-ray or proton therapy) along with an immunotherapy drug (pembrolizumab) before surgery is safe and more effective for people whose head and neck cancer has come back. The research will involve about 40 adults who are candidates for a second surgery. The main goals are to find the safest radiation dose and to see if this combined approach shrinks tumors better than immunotherapy alone before the operation.
