Radiation boost tested to fight spreading esophageal cancer

NCT ID NCT05978193

Summary

This study is testing if adding two types of radiation therapy to standard first-line treatment helps people with advanced esophageal cancer that has spread. About 100 adults who haven't had prior cancer treatment will be randomly assigned to receive either the standard immunotherapy-plus-chemotherapy or that same standard treatment plus radiation. The main goal is to see if the combination with radiation keeps the cancer from getting worse for a longer time and is safe for patients.
