Doctors test 'Tumor Ablation' radiation for kidney cancer
NCT ID NCT02811250
Summary
This study tested a precise, high-dose radiation technique called stereotactic radiotherapy for small kidney tumors (4 cm or less). It aimed to find the safest maximum dose for patients who are older, cannot have surgery, or have cancer that has spread. The treatment was given in 4-5 quick sessions, and researchers monitored patients for severe side effects over five years.
