New radiation approach tested for vulnerable liver cancer patients

NCT ID NCT02626312

Summary

This early-stage trial is testing whether a specialized form of radiation therapy is safe for people with liver cancer who also have poor liver function or a reduced amount of healthy liver tissue. The study will enroll 36 patients to find the highest safe dose of radiation that can be given without causing severe side effects. The goal is to see if this treatment can help control cancer in patients who are often not eligible for standard radiation due to their liver condition.
