Summary
This study tested a single, highly focused dose of radiation to a small part of the brain (the pituitary gland) to see if it could reduce severe pain from cancer that had spread to the bones. The goal was to help patients whose pain was not controlled by strong painkillers like opioids. The study was small and aimed to gather initial safety and effectiveness data to plan a larger future trial.
