Radiation blast before surgery aims to stop Cancer's return in weakened bones

NCT ID NCT05038124

Summary

This study is testing a new treatment sequence for patients with cancer that has spread to their bones and requires surgery to prevent fractures. Researchers want to see if giving a very precise, high-dose radiation treatment (SBRT) less than a week before the stabilizing surgery is safe and helps keep the cancer from growing back in that bone. The goal is to improve local control of the disease in the treated area.
