First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
The RADiaNT study at Mayo Clinic will test if guided meditation using the Muse headband can improve sleep, mood, and thinking in 40 adults with normal cognition or mild impairment. Participants meditate 5 minutes a day, five times a week for two 6-week periods. The study tracks sleep patterns, stress, and depression to see if this simple practice boosts mental well-being.

- What this could lead to
- If it works, this could point toward a simple, non-drug way to improve sleep, mood, and thinking for people with mild cognitive issues.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small, early study with only 40 people, so results may not apply widely. Meditation requires daily effort, and benefits may be modest or hard to measure.
