First seen Feb 13, 2026 · Last updated Jun 13, 2026 · Updated 17 times

Summary

This study tested a new rabies vaccine in over 1,700 healthy children and adults in Thailand. The goal was to see if the new vaccine works as well as current rabies vaccines when given before exposure to the virus. Participants received either the new vaccine or one of two standard vaccines, and some got a booster shot later. The study found that the new vaccine produced protective antibodies in nearly everyone.
