First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 33 times

Summary

This study compares two pain relief methods used during robotic kidney surgery: a cheaper mix of drugs called R.E.C.K and a more expensive option called Exparel. About 170 adults having robotic kidney removal will be randomly assigned to one of the two treatments. Researchers will track pain scores, painkiller use, and hospital stay length to see if the extra cost of Exparel is worth it.
