First human test for potential diabetes treatment begins

NCT ID NCT06057454

Summary

This small, early-stage study tested the safety and side effects of a new oral treatment called R-5280 in teenagers recently diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. For 12 weeks, participants took either the treatment or a placebo pill. Researchers checked for side effects and also measured blood sugar levels and gut bacteria to see if the treatment had any early effects.
