Summary

This study looked at how a natural antioxidant called quercetin and a common cholesterol medication (atorvastatin) affect hormone levels in postmenopausal women with heart disease. Researchers compared 60 women taking either quercetin, atorvastatin, or a placebo for 60 days. The goal was to understand if these treatments influence estrogen levels and a protein called Sirtuin-1, which is linked to metabolism and heart health.
