Personalized transfusions: treating the patient, not just the number
NCT ID NCT07328191
Summary
This study is for adults with advanced blood cancers (MDS or AML) who are in palliative care and need regular blood transfusions. It compares two ways to decide when to give a transfusion: the usual method based on a blood count number, versus a new method based on changes in the patient's own reported quality of life. The goal is to see if the new method can safely give fewer transfusions while keeping patients feeling as good as possible.
