Finger clip vs. needle: which oxygen reading is more accurate?
NCT ID NCT07166718
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 10, 2026 · Updated 30 times
Summary
This study looked at 152 ICU patients who were getting extra oxygen. Doctors checked their oxygen levels using both a simple finger clip (pulse oximeter) and a blood test (arterial blood gas). The goal was to see how well the two methods agree. The results help doctors understand when the finger clip can be trusted and when a blood test might be needed.
