Race against time: how fast blood thinners work could save lives in ICU
NCT ID NCT06912009
Summary
This study looks at how quickly blood-thinning medications become fully effective in intensive care patients with serious lung clots (pulmonary embolism). Researchers will track 100 patients to see if the time it takes to reach effective blood thinning affects survival, repeat clots, or serious bleeding. The goal is to understand what factors influence this timing and improve treatment practices for these critically ill patients.
