Summary

This study tested whether public messages can encourage veterans who recently left the military and are thinking about suicide to seek mental health care. Researchers enrolled 355 veterans who had suicidal thoughts but were not in treatment. They sent different messages and tracked whether veterans started therapy. The goal was to find the best way to reach those who are hesitant to ask for help.
