Brain zaps tested to help veterans stuck in PTSD treatment

NCT ID NCT06271733

Summary

This small pilot study explored whether a non-invasive brain stimulation technique could help veterans with PTSD who weren't improving during the first week of a standard two-week intensive therapy program. Researchers combined the therapy with a procedure called iTBS, which uses magnetic pulses to target brain areas linked to stress. The goal was to see if this combined approach was feasible and could improve treatment outcomes for those likely to not respond to therapy alone.
