Neck injection could boost PTSD therapy for veterans

NCT ID NCT05889741

First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study tests whether a nerve block injection in the neck, combined with a fast-paced behavioral therapy, can better reduce PTSD symptoms in military members and retirees. Half of the 140 participants will get the real injection, and half will get a sham (fake) one, alongside ten 90-minute therapy sessions. The goal is to see if the injection helps the therapy work faster or better.
