Battlefield delays linked to lasting trauma in amputee veterans

NCT ID NCT07502313

Summary

This study aims to understand if longer evacuation times from the battlefield and extended tourniquet use increase the risk of developing PTSD in veterans who have lost limbs in combat. Researchers will follow 300 Ukrainian veterans with single limb amputations for 18 months, tracking their psychological symptoms. The goal is to identify key factors that contribute to PTSD to improve future trauma care for wounded soldiers.
