New hope for PTSD? military trial tests sleep drug for trauma relief

Summary
This study is testing whether a medication called daridorexant, which is currently used for insomnia, can help control symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). It will involve 200 active-duty service members and veterans. Participants will be randomly assigned to receive either the real medication or a placebo for 12 weeks to see if it safely reduces PTSD symptoms.
